Unitron Moxi - North Processing

Processing platforms are the brains behind the hearing aid, turning listening devices into “mini computers for the ears.” Unitron’s newest processing platform is North, and it is the most powerful from the company to date. North captures natural sound, with a dynamic range enabling input up to 119 decibels. With clean handling of signals and tightly integrated algorithms, the North Platform provides Unitron hearing aids with incredibly clear and incredible natural listening.

North empowers wearers with excellent speech recognition features in the new SoundNav automatic program. SoundNav provides seven classifications of sound environments, four of which are focused on conversation: noise, quiet, music, and conversation (conversation in quiet, in small groups, in a crowd, and in noise). Along with SoundNav, North offers SpeechZone 2 and Sound Conductor, two automatic features that provide wearers with access to speech and sound in any environment. Sound Conductor balances the sound picked up from your listening environment and balances it so that you receive clear and natural audio. SpeechZone 2 is an updated program to provide the best speech recognition, picking up speakers’ voices with 360-degree detection, helping wearers to determine the direction from which speech sounds come.

North’s Binaural Spatial Processing feature ensures that wearers experience balanced sound from both ears, while the Automatic Adaptation Manager helps new hearing aid wearers ease their way into a clear listening experience. Other features help to enhance the listening experience and support wearers in different environments: Binaural Phone, which wirelessly streams phone calls, music, and other media directly to the aids; Natural Sound Balance; and AntiShock, which eliminates discomfort caused by sharp and sudden sounds. North introduces an industry first, as well. Log It All is a program that archives user preferences, which helps hearing healthcare professionals better tailor the listening experience for their patients.
Unitron Moxi Warranty

Each Unitron Moxi Pro hearing aid comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, and includes a 3-year loss and damage warranty. Each hearing aid may be replaced one time during the loss and damage period for $300. The replacement cost includes a replacement instrument as well as an in-person appointment with your local provider to ensure the hearing aid is configured correctly. You may add one year to the warranty coverage, effectively giving you a 4-year manufacturer warranty and 4-year loss and damage warranty, by checking the box under extended warranty, above. Each Unitron Moxi 800 / 700 / 600 / 500 hearing aid comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, and includes a 2-year loss and damage warranty. Purchasing the warranty extension will extend both to 3 years.

Unitron Moxi Models

Moxi Design and Features

Unitron Moxi hearing aids are an illustrious line of products, awarded Red Dot Design prizes in 2014 and 2015. Moxi hearing aids are all receiver-in-canal (RIC): Moxi Fit, Kiss, Dura and Moxi Now. Moxi hearing aids are all powered by the North Processing Platform, and are wireless hearing aids which come in a number of technology levels to address the different degrees of hearing loss. Moxi hearing aids offer durability and protection from the elements, long battery life, and are fully customizable to meet your specific fit and hearing needs.

Moxi Now is currently the smallest RIC hearing aid on the market – the size of 2 blueberries, one stacked on top of the other. For its small size, Moxi Now provides much power, available in three power levels: 700, 800, and Pro. Both 800 and Pro aids offer 20 channels, with binaural features to address speech in noise. With the 700 level, there are 16 channels and features to separate speech from noise. All technology levels are powered by the North Processing Platform and offer all of the features found with North.

In the higher levels, Pro and 800, Moxi Now aids are equipped with Speech Zone 2, binaural spatial processing, six or seven environments of SoundNav, Sound Conductor, Log It All, MyMusic (which provides wearers with enhanced music enjoyment), Binaural Phone, Automatic Adaption Manager, frequency compression, and AntiShock. With the 700 level, there are five environments for SoundNav.All technology levels of Moxi Now offer: Pinna Effect, Natural Sound Balance, data logging, feedback manager, wind control, tinnitus masker, DuoLink, and plasma coating, to protect the aid from the elements. SpeechZone and SpeechZone 2 are Unitron’s speech recognition features, which automatically adjust microphones to focus on speech from any direction. SpeechZone is especially useful in noisy scenarios.

BINAURAL SPATIAL PROCESSING

For people with normal hearing, binaural means with both ears. Sound information is gathered binaurally and “mixed” in the brain to balance the audio and help us identify the direction from which sounds come. Binaural Spatial Processing does this with an automatic program, helping Moxi Now wearers identify the direction of speech and other sounds.

SOUNDNAV

SoundNav is at the center of North’s features; it is an automatic program with two to seven pre-programmed environmental settings (depending on the technology level). SoundNav helps wearers adjust to different sound environments, whether it is noisy or quiet, and also elucidates speech in four different environments.

LOG IT ALL
